Database Programmer

job purpose: The Database Programmer will be a part of the technical team within fairlife, LLC. Under limited supervision, the Database Programmer will be focused on the administration, design, and database query development to optimize production processes. This individual possess operational, technical data management and programming expertise with a strong ability to communicate design changes with Operations, Engineering, and other stakeholders. This role will have a strong focus on data analytics support and visualization as well as supporting third-party system integration efforts.

responsibilities:

  • Leverage database optimization such as indexing and modular stored procedure use to ensure and improve system reliability
  • Design and test database plans
  • Construct queries for business analysis
  • Modify databases and perform tests as needed
  • Provide database support that assists the necessary business functions
  • Work collaboratively across cross-functional teams
  • Other responsibilities in accordance with business needs
  • Program design concepts as related to database query languages

skills/qualifications required:

  • Technical, Associate or Bachelor Level degree preferred
  • 4+ years’ experience in database programming function required
  • Database administration, design, and query optimization experience required
  • SQL server database experience. Administrative knowledge is highly preferred
  • MS Excel experience with VBA programming knowledge is a plus
  • Strong math and reasoning ability. Ability to understand and utilize engineering drawings, operating manuals, and blueprints to conduct business
  • Visual Basic or similar language software development desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and communicate advanced technical systems and processes
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
